LSV Sands China Restarts Billion Dollar Project

Sands China, Macau subsidiary of the US casino company Las Vegas Sands, just hired contractors to reboot the Cotai area which stalled since November 2008. The gaming operator signed 10 contracts with contractors involved in the Cotai casino area worth over MOP 1 Billion patacas (US$125 million) to finish construction of  the 4,000 hotel rooms project. Sands recently secured a bank loan of US$1.75 billion, which it was granted this month.

The Project will include three hotels of the “Shangri-La,” “Sheraton, “ and “Traders” chains with some 3,700 metres of area, 670 gaming tables and 2,200 slot machines, which are expected to start operating in the first quarter of 2011.
